Earning My Wings

Some angels are messengers of God.
Some, I imagine, circle around Him singing praises.
I wonder if their wings glow,
How great it'd be for God to say, "My Angel, you do well. May your wings grow."
In my dreams, I walk, I feel I am destined to know....
I want to earn wings,
Dear Lord, I want to soar.
Having the gift to fly through your skies
Singing Hallelujah over the tides of oceans
Whispering "God loves you" by and by
Every lost soul I see,
Oh, Yes, My Lord. I will weep!
I will rejoice for those that give their hearts.
I will dance with those that praise.
I will sing as loud as my voice can carry,
My God, you rest in heaven;
but you miss nothing at all.
God hear me when I worship,
comfort me when I cry,
allow me the time I need to get better
may your mercy never die.
I pray to you with an open heart.
I want to earn my wings,
am I at a good start?
I'll do what it takes....
even if they're only surrounding my heart.
I want to make it into heaven!
I am pressing to earn Wings with you Lord!
